I checked the u-joints and it definitly isn't coming from there. Definitly is coming from inside the engine compartment. In idle it tweets a little, accelerating up to 30 or 40mph its pretty destinct but then once you get on the highway you can't hear it. Anyone got a clue?

i would suggest pulling the serpentine belt off and manaully spining each of the pulleys too see the noise can be detected . i work at a gm dealership and it usually works for me . good luck.Where do I get p/s pump, pulleys,& brackets for 1979 460 no a/c ?
