Chrysler and Dodge continue to use the SOHC 6G72 (up to 200 HP and 200 lb-ft torque now) in the Stratus and Sebring coupes. Mitsubishi now uses this successful engine design in the 2000 and newer Eclipse models (SOHC), after having installed the DOHC version in some Diamantes. Unfortunately, the SOHC block is not the same as the DOHC block used in the turbocharged version of the 6G72 in the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (1991-1999) and in the Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (1991-1996). Of all the vehicles listed above besides the 3000GT/Stealth, only the Diamante used the DOHC version of the engine. Bummer.
What do you have to say about the Scion tC?
no they are not the same. One is a Single and the other is a duel overhead cam its a different motor. Also if you want a stealth spend the money and get a R/T twin turbo you will be much happier because the SOHC are a waste of time and money cause they dont have alot of power even in good running condition. Also those cars have alot of problems and they are expensive to maintain.I have a 2002 Fiat Punto. The lever to open the engine hood door doesn't work.?
The dohc 6g72 is a pig. You are better off with a 6a13 from japan. It is VERY expensive to build a dohc 6g72 so don't even bother. If you must have one go to www.car-part.com and look at the price of a used one. What is the best engine i can put in my chevy cavalier 2000?
