2003 Jetta 1.8t Issues.?

Question:
I have recently been considering moving on from my '03 Jetta for several reasons one of miles (currently at 83k) and my previous experiences with Jetta's and their increased servicing after 100k miles. I would love to hear anyones thoughts on if the car is worth getting it back up to par or moving on.here are the issues I know the car currently has:
-temp gauge moves up and down sporatically
-coallant container seems to lose coolant even though the VW guide says you should never have to replace the coolant
-car has $83k miles and I am putting on about 1,500 miles a month currently
-clicking noise happens randomly while driving (the sounds is very familiar to the clicking sound of my blinker)
-car has never been tuned up (yes, the oil has been changed when required but that is about it)

What happen when you overfill a honda transmission?

Anyone's thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Besides "M5" front/rear body kits, can one buy a complete modified kit made for an E39 '03 540i BMW?

If the car's paid off, I recommend investing a little money to give the car a proper tune up and make it running right and keep it. Same advice even if you have just a little longer on paying it off. I'm speaking from experience on constantly being in dept to payments (BIG ones!). By the age of 24, I'd owned a BRAND new '01 Wolfsburg Jetta, BRAND new '03 GLI Jetta and a BRAND new '04 GLI Jetta not including the used cars I had before them. My next car, I'm either paying cash or getting something cheap I can pay off quickly. You're options are getting keeping it like I said, trading it in on a NEW vehicle and actually doing the preventative maintenance this time so the car lasts a long time or trading it in on a used car and potentially having the same problems with it. My wife's car is paid off and that makes me feel better about periodically spending money to fix it. Hope that helps!

What are some upgrades to add more horsepower and torque to my 98 plymouth breeze?

Yeah, 2003 was a bad year for jettas. My mom has the same jetta as you and she's been having a lot of problems with that sucker...so after the extended warrantity ends she's going to trade it in.
