Get out the owner's manual and follow it to the letter. All brand new cars come with them, and they all have documents that say how to treat your new car properly. That way, you're clear on the warranty.

What Boomer said.
Follow that manual to the LETTER. Each car and its manufacturer are different. Some have max speeds listed, others want you to do certain things to it (or not to do... hard cornering, hard braking, etc unless necessary in emergency).

Need opinion on MITSHUBISHI LANCER 2005?

here are the rules:
1. no full throttle applications (unless necessary)
2. no high speeds (above speed limits)
3. no sustained speeds (rpm really) for more than 30-60sec.
4. you really should not ever let a cars engine "warm-up" all this does is ruin gas mileage & tax ur charging system. it will heat up faster if u drive it.
5. do this for 1000 miles & then giver hell

Do read the manual as it will tell you the service intervals. Drive it kindly. Breaking in an engine went out in Oh I would say 1975. With the high tech bearings and assembly along with the material in the rings and pistons. there is no "break in" required. If in doubt ask the dealer. Great to ask this question as it shows you are planning on taking care of your new ride. It Will repay you with years of great service
