The Tacoma will probably be getting a hybrid version sometime around 2010 or 2011 as that is about the next scheduled re-design is.

Toyota has plans to offer hybrid drivetrain options on all of their vehicles that they have available in the US within the next several years. They have not given any exact time-table, but expect as they re-design models they will have features that allow hybrid conversion. For example, the RAV4 has the electric power steering that is needed for the hybrid version that will be realeased in the next year or so after the Highlander is re-designed, but they didn't want to offer it yet to not take away from Highlander hybrid sales.
