Question:
I drive an 01 explorer 4WD and it whenever I'm driving it Revs up high and then jerks into gear at about 20-30 mph. Otherwise it runs pretty smooth. Transmission Fluid was just changed and that didn't change anything. Could this mean transmission is about to go bad? or any suggestions on anything else it can be? it is a V6 , and 4.0 engine

Unfortanitly, Ford has made some pretty crappy automatic transmissions and you might have one, it sounds like it is slipping between 1st and 2nd, if you don't have the money to get it looked at right now, take it easy on the accelerator when it starts to slip (ease off until you feel 2nd engage). It can be some thing minor but then again it can be a nightmare. I hope in your case its just a minor problem. Good luck.I want 18's on my scion tc 07. What pcd and et combo will work?
Since your truck is 4WD, the rear seal in the transmission between it and the transfer case may be bad, which causes the transmission fluid to drain into the transfer case, and causes the harsh shifting. The mercury mountaineer's have the same problems. So before doing anything drastic have that rear seal checked.More Questions & Answers ...
