That's just a cheap way to give more air flow to the engine what I did to my 2006 Corvette is replaced the stock hood with a custom overdrive model I have cuts (1 on each side) in my hood and I have been told by GM that It increased my airflow / performance by at least 25% follow the links to get you one I am not sure if you have a local shop that does it like I do but look around
