Question:
What is happening is when I'm on the freeway and doing around 75 MPH at 3200 RPM's, I floor the car to pass someone (yes it's an auto) and the engine spins up to 5500 RPM's but there's no power at all. It only seems to do it after the engine has fully warmed up. I don't have any problems when driving it in the city. Only on the highways at higher speeds. I was thinking it was a torque converter issue, but why wouldn't that affect the transmission more than just on the freeway at wide open throttle? Anyway, I took it to the dealer since it's still under warranty and they told me there's an aftermarket flash on the ECU. Naturally this means they can't work on it until the ECU is brought back to a stock tune. I just bought the car used on the 17th and had no idea about this flash program being there. Is there anything I can do to fix this thing without having to pay Volkswagen $635 to replace my ECU?

Do any one knows where to get Nissan Latio Fog lamp, other than Tan Chong.?
I own a transmission shop, and I can tell you this; It is against the law for "any" dealership to sell you a vehicle that has been modified without disclosing the fact. Reason is; it will not pass inspection on the emissions with an aftermarket (for off road use only) program installed in the computer. For them to ask you to spend $635 for a computer, in order for them to be able to work on a vehicle you just purchased. Ever hear of the Consumer Protection Agency? The EPA is another good one that would blow their top if they found out they sold you something like that. They must be trying to say you had an aftermarket program flashed into your ECU. The computer is causing your problems with the transmission, and you are just going to have to lay the law down to them, and don't take no for an answer. Don't "ask" what they are going to do, but "tell" them what they are going to do, and tell them you are going to report them for selling you a vehicle that doesn't meet Governmental regulations. Remind them that the fine they would have to pay would be much more than what it would cost them to fix your car.Glad to help out, Good Luck!
