What is the best car to buy for under 40K? (Exotic Ride)?

Recently I got into the entire thing for cars, and as my days of staying in the dark are getting over, I'm looking for a car that not only has the resistance but also the looks.

After much browsing I cam across the entire thing of "40K Ferrari Killer" and while that car does have what many of us want, I simply don't find it much of my needs right now, more like the last choice I'll make if all else fails ^^;

Is it still a Nissan?

My question is simply simple...what other car can I buy that has an exotic look to it, has the performance to match, resistance/endurance as well the capability to customized (aesthetically), all for the price of 40K?

So you want a hot ride, very understandable. In the $40K range there are a few to choose from. I will assume you are in America, if this is true your choices are limited, as in Europe there are lots to choose from.
If you want what everybody else drives, plain, boring, get a Mustang GT.
You want something exotic, attention getter? Buy a Lotus Elise or better an Exige. Keep plenty of sickness bags in the car as this vehicle will outperform a lot of other more expensive rides. You said around the 40K range, but if you don't include tax, tag, title you may need to look in the 35K range for the vehicle. I sure hope you find one out there that ya like though.
As far as the (Ferrari Killer) that is a Factory Five Racing GTM Mulsanne (FFR) and it is a component car. How do I know about them, I have been doing research on the company for years and when I retire from the military I plan on purchasing one from them and building it. I hope this has helped out some. You can also log into yahoo and look under their auto section to look at every make sold in the USA to decide what you want.
