If you are out of warranty, consider investing in a VAG-Com from ross-tech.com. It gives you the same scanning capabilities as the VAS computers the dealerships have along with some additional diagnostic/monitoring functions. But interpreting codes and knowing how to deal with them takes a bit of know-how. Good luck!
