If you mean the reliability of your stock VW motor. There are a few things to keep in mind. It is an air cooled motor so by helping it to keep cool is important. Make sure the exhaust system has no leaks. Minimize the oil leaks if any, and keep the engine clean of any leaky oil. Make sure the rubber seal that goes around the engine is in good shape. It keeps the hot air coming from the exhaust pipes from entering the cooling fan on top. Also be sure the heater hoses are intact. If not, a big lose of cooling air.
