I recently bought a 1983 CJ7...I'm having trouble at the parts counter.?

There were evidently two different 2.5 4-cyl. motors offered. GM and AMC...how do I tell which is which?

Unless somebody swapped in a GM 2.5 you have the AMC. AMC made jeeps until 86 then chrysler started and they were the ones who put the GM 2.5 in. Just think, what if they had put in the 350 instead?
