honestly it wouldnt be stupid but you can get a delco remaned engine from the dealer with a 1yr warranty for about 500 less than the rebuild costs you are asking about. remember if you bore it over you need a complete engine gasket set,main and rod bearings, and new rings and pistons, add those to the cost of machining the block and you'll save alot of hassle getting one for gm.More Questions & Answers ...
