?1987 Mazda B2000, where is fuel pump? Why does it die? EGR?

Question:
My B2000 PU has 150,000 miles and will sometimes try to die while I am driving it. It seems to not be getting any fuel. Sometimes it will turn over but not start and if I let it set a minite it will start and run fine. My son in law changed the oil in it and said it smells a little like gas.
Does the EGR save on fuel?? Is it worth changing??

It has a mechanical pump. Most mechanical pumps are toward the bottom front section of the motor. Sides of the motor vary, so that I can't help with. As for your other questions, they're over my head.

Can I fit 24" rims on a '02 Impala?

Repair any vacuum lines that are cracked or defective. The EGR(stand for Exhaust recirculation Valve)does save on gas mileage and keeps the vehicle from over heating.Your exturnal fuel pump needs to be replaced or you have a leak in the fuel line.I hope this helps.
