You need to get the oil pressure checked using a mechanical gauge hooked to the engine via an oil galley plug or oil filter fitting. They make a real nice oil pressure test unit that goes in place of your oil filter. This way you can be sure your engine has proper oil pressure. It's most likely your oil pressure sending unit rather than the gauge. Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the oil pressure? If so you cannot check the oil pressure by reading dipstick.. It would be a good idea to get a new guage.
