Exclusivity matters. Also the W12 version comes with several other interior options to make the car more desirable. Longer wheelbase. 100 extra horsepower and just under 100 extra foot-pounds of torque. Half-second improvement in 0 to 60 acceleration and quarter-mile speed.1992 engine mercury sable and 1994 engine ford taurus?

They took the Volkswagon W12 and put it in the Audi to compete with the 12 cylinder engines in the Mercedes and BMWs. Most 12 cyl.s appeal to peoples egos. Some of the MB supercharged v8's are faster. I have driven 2 Bentleys with the VW W12 with 552HP and its a hell of an engine, but if it were my dough I'd get the S8 . Where is the air pump located on 2004 trailblazer?
All Audi S-cars are aimed at the sportier end of the market, whereas you can get similarly powered cars but with the emphasis shifted away from sport and onto luxury.
Mercedes do this with their SL class. You can get an SL55 AMG with a 5.5 litre V8 producing 509 bhp or a SL600 with a 5.5 litre V12 procucing an identical 509 bhp.
The AMG car is the sportier of the two.

S8 is a all out sports version whilst the w12 is a luxury mile muncher. I'd just get a M5 anyway.Used car buying opinion for Dodge Grand Caravans...?
Pesrsonally I would go for the W12 - as the W12 engine is perfectly suited to a large luxury saloon- with endless reserves of low down down torque and lots of 'waft appeal'. i do not see the point of fitting a LAGRE LUXURY HEAVY saloon car with hard sports suspension and a lambo engine - it is an oxymoron.
