Yes, it is serious.Usually when the oil light comes on, is when there is no oil in the engine. You may need to add about 4 litres of oil, give or take a little. Check your dip stick and see if your oil is low.
The next time you drive your truck is only to get oil for it. If you drive it for to long it will over heat and the engine may or will seize up.
