Question:
I'm trying to convince the parents to get me and FJ for my 16th birthday, and I'm looking for some help on some mechanical questions. I was wondering if it has the same traction system as the 4Runner to where it can't spin out unless the differential is locked, and if possible a comparison to the 4Runner (in terms of convenience and whatnot, not hard facts). Thanks for the help, hope to be enjoying an FJ soon!

The FJ is actually based on the Tacoma platform. The 4wd system uses a traditional transfer case like in the Tacoma rather than the Torsen center differential in the 4Runner. It does use the STAR safey system that Toyota uses on all of its SUV's though so it does have ABS, VSC, TRAC, (Anti-Lock-Brakes, Vehicle Stability Control, and Traction Control). Hope this answers your questions.'99 Chevy Suburban won't start when cold.?
