325ci, I had for several weeks when I was working for my relative, it's very thirsty, even though it's got that near 50/50 wegiht distribution, it's very negative at the back end.BMW's are great, I think your better off buying the 328, as the insurance is similar, it feels like a M3 and you don't have to wait for ages to have a service. I wouldn't bother with a 330i it's crap really. The best one to go for would be the 320D! It drives marvellous, and you don't find yourself stopping off at every fuel pump. You can also get 140mph put of the car.
Why a Bmw? You have to spend 8k ish to get leather seats and a few more extras.
have you had a look at the Lexus IS200?
Go for a 2.0SE, it's got a great gear box and never goes wrong! Insurnce is only a group 12 and if you want a 3.0, it's only a group highier!!
Only bad thing with Lexus, is hat you can't find an independant specialist, so you always will have to service it @ Lexus. Although with a full official Lexus stamp, it will sell it fast for you!

If you go for Bmw bare this in mind, Trim-wise, on most early models, it's a question of standard or SE, but Sport and ES gradually joined the range over the years. On early cars, if there is a choice at all, the SE's extra equipment makes it the one to go for, but on later cars, ES is the top choice, with much of the SE's attractions at a lower cost.
(as well as recalls on BMW's, suspension seems to be crap on them!! I had the e36, 318i, engine was great, had enough power, but it leaked inside with water...

I have a 2004 325 ci w/sports and lux packages (same car, only 2 doors) and love it. Not too fast but handles like a dream - only problem is the cost of parts but they are very dependable - also, the insurance is pretty steep but I'm an old fart so they give me a break (no tickets or insurance claims in 14 years). If you're looking for something sporty with good quality and more power than the Bimmer - look for a Infinity G35 (coupe, of course) - basically a nicer version of the Nissan 350 Z but with a few more HP and a small back seat.does anyone know the cylinder head torque setting for the jeep cherokee'93-'01 2.5TD engine ?
