I agree with Jason R. It sounds like your cam sensor and synchronizer needs to be replaced, if your car is equipped with the 3.0L 12-valve OHV V6. Your MAF sensor being dirty could also possibly cause the symptom you describe, but due to the symptom you posted in your other question, I'm almost 100% that the above two parts, need to be replaced. If you have a scan test (or "EEC" test in Ford lingo) done, and you get a P0340, it's a guarantee that's your problem. The cost and part numbers of the two parts are as follows: Cam Sensor (1F1Z-6B288-BA) $18.72US, and Synchronizer (DA-2089) $72.81US. Disregard the idiotic comments from coojoe59.

It could be a Mass airflow sensor, or throttle postion sensor, or a Camshaft Position Sensor, is it a 4v or a 2v? i have seen the Camshaft Position Sensor go out more in the 2v. Or could be plugs, wires, fuel, fuel filter, injector(s), or fuel pump, how many miles are on it? 02 doesnt have cap or rotor has coil packs.

First i would check the air intake cause if it is clogged the motor wont get a lot of air and it will bog down. If that isnt the problem try checking the oil and seeing if it is thick and sludgy. After that check and see if there is a engine misfire the way you could check that is have the car idle and see if it spits and sputters and with the hood open see if it makes a clicking noise.thats a misfire. if that doesnt take care of it you need to go to the ford dealership and have them take a look.
