Buying used Merc or BMW imported from tropical country to be used in cold climate country?

What problems I may face if I decided to buy an imported car from tropical country like Singapore to be used in cold climate country like UK and Ireland. The car will be BMW 520i (01 reg) or Merc E200K (01 reg).

nothing at all.when the manufacturer makes there cars, they are tested in extreme circumstances of heat and extreme cold temperatures. only problem is if it is right hand drive for uk. and very expensive to ship. you can get both cars in uk for about 18 grand anyway...

you shouldnt really have any problems as merc and bmw are usually built the same for all markets it maybe only a matter of changing the engine coolant/antifreeze and sometimes treating the underneath of the car with waxoil to protect it a bit better from salt on the roads
