I have a vw passat 2003 2.0 20v that is misfiring. Anybody have any ideas what the problem may be.?

the passat 1.8 does not have plug wires. they do have coil issues, and an updated coil was released. i dont remember if this model has an output stage module or not. seems like a 03 is too new for that. i would look at coils. no other misfire issues that i know of.

check the spark plug wires first. you can check them at night to see if any sparks are by them. that means it is shorting out.
