Yes indeed. It's a great choice for a truck engine, gobs of torque. Get A copy of the 2007 GM Performance Parts Catalog at your Chevrolet dealer. The part number is 19170580. Many parts choices for that particular combination. A 383 is supposed to be a 4.030 bore and a 3.750 stroke. If you math it out using the formula pi = 3.14 times the radius (2.015) times (2.015) = 4.030 = 12.6542. 12.6542 times the stroke = 47.45325 X 8 = 379.626 cubic inches. So where's the advertised "383". Some crankshaft company's make a 3.800 stroke crank. With the above 4.030 bore the math spits out 384.687 cubic inches. you can put a 383 crate engine into a silverado, but it looks like you may have to find someone at a local machine shop to make you custom motor mounts, good luck finding a set i just looked for bout 45 mintues and couldnt find any once again, wish ya the bestMore Questions & Answers ...
