I have a 2002 WS6 Trans Am w/6speed tranny, 6th gear is out and it seems 5th is starting to go, I was told the sincros are bad, Could this have happened if the car was tower improperly?

Chances are slim that towing had anything to do with that, but there is a slight chance of that happening, too. Its usually caused by low tranny fluid. Also, shifting improperly can do the same thing.Proper towing of cars with manual transmissions require the tower to remove the drive shaft so the trans isn't turning from the output shaft side. If it was towed this way it is possible it was damaged.

Most towers use flatbeds to aviod this sort of damage, and a flarbed would NOT cause this problem.
