They're not the smoothest of cars really, more for the boy racers. If its a training car then it should do the job. If you want to buy a small family car I recomment the ford fiesta. they are a budget car so the clutch and gearbox work fine but they are only as smooth as the person operating them.My girlfriend has got one steve and she loves it. But I find it hard to drive because I can't get my size 9 on to the accelerator pedal. But apart from that it's a really nice little car. The clutch is really crisp and the gears are nice and compact.

Having worked at 2 different citroen dealerships I can tell you they are very easy to drive and pretty cheap to run.Only problem is that the footwell is a bit cramped so can be awkward to drive if you have big feet. Pedals are small and quite close together.
I am a size 8, not too bad to drive but any bigger and it gets more difficult.
