I have a 96 dodge ram. When i hit a bump or even go over a speed bump it squeeks?

Question:
Basically every time i hit a little bump in the road of ANYTHING small. the front of the truck makes this horrible squeeky sound like and it sounds like its bouncing up and down. I was told before that i need new shocks, but not because of the squeeky sound, they didnt hear any squeeks. it was just someone looking under my truck at my front wheels. Is that what i need? New shocks? and will that stop the squeeking? it sounds really retarded and feel like im driving like a beat down box. lol . thanks for any info. anyone also know if i bought them off ebay. like 200 bucks. how much someone usually charges for install? thanks

Broke shock or spring.

by this time, you probably do need to shocks. Get em, and if it still squeaks, you need something else. You probably wore something else out by not replacing bad shocks!

Yeah, I thought by the description you gave, it's the shocks.

I would have your ball joints checked. When they wear, they will have play, and squeak when going over bumps etc.

Other than suspension components - make sure you don't have any body panels rubbing together. They make a terrible racket.

Mazda B4000 Transponder won't recognize key and wont start?

most common squeaking in the front end of a rear wheel drive vehicle is worn a-frame bushings or wornout rubber spring mounts. these parts are overlooked a lot when it comes to maintaince. ball joints and steering parts usally make clunking sounds and cause steering problems. shocks could cause squeaking. so while you are getting them replaced, have them check these other parts. you might want to check out local repair shops for shocks. they usally include installation in their prices.

I want to know what manual transmissions were available for a 69 charger?

The sqeaking you describe is more apt to be caused by worn bushings in the front suspension. If someone has already discovered that you need new shocks I woulod imagine the rest of the suspension could use a little TLC aswell. Your local tire shop could probably get you goin again squeak free. As far as money goes. Its really up to the driving that you do. If this is a daily driver that's more apt to run over a parking block than you probably wouldn't need to invest a whole lot in it. However if your towing, hauling or off the beaten path with any degree of regularity you might consider uping the ante a bit. As far as ebay goes I couldn't tell ya. I still like lookin the sales guy in the eye so I can see just how full of it he might be.

If you own a Mazda 3 review it for me!?

right now seems like your squeekin more than that front end...Take it to a front end shop, and have the whole thing checked out..And if you cant find shocks for less than 200 on EBAY
dont worry what the cost to rebuild that front end is, bein'12 yrs old..

I Have A 63 vw bug i need to wire an alternator to replace the generator need help?

I guarantee it's your upper or lower control arm bushings... ( if it's a 2 wheel drive)... They are cheap to buy... BUT A PAIN IN THE !&% to change... I just did mine aboout 6 months (96 Ram 1500) ago... My advice... Get polyurethane bushings... Not rubber... and take it to a automotive shop and have them install them... It's going to be expensive... A repair shop quoted me around 650 bucks!! to replace them... And that's after I bought the new bushings myself!!... The reason it's so expensive is that it usually takes a LOT of work to take the old ones out... The shop has to use a machine press to take them out and install them... Also take this into consideration... When I replaced mine... I ended up having to replace one of my control arms... Since the bushings are Machine pressed in and not bolted... The metal on the control arm can get worn also... which then means... Hello, NEW control arm... Not trying to scare you.. Just trying to prepare you...

worn ball joints will make a sqeek as well, and these trucks are known for eating those up as well.
