You need some torx sockets. the windshield hinges on the body but it is also bolted to the rollcage and dash with torx screws. You will have to remove the section of roll bars between the main rollbar and the windshield too.

Then at base end of the wiper arms (just where the hinge is), you'll find a small metal tab. It pulls out about 1/4 inch, then the wiper arm will slide right off. You may need a small screwdriver to pry the metal tab.

I loosen all the bolts until they are almost ready to come out and push the windshield forward slightly. Then I remove the bolts at the windshield end, fold the windshield, and finally remove the sports bar sections. Even doing it this way, I've scratched paint.
2. Once the two sports bar sections are removed, they are supposed to be strapped to the floor just ahead of the backseat. There are footman loops in the floor and the straps should have been included with your Jeep (along with the strap that secures the folded windshield to the hood). It is a very good idea to strap these down. When bouncing around offroad they become heavy projectiles.

you need a torx (star) bit and you remove the rollbars that attach to the windshield. once you do that you loosen the screws on the hinges for the windshield and it should drop to the hood. make sure that you ziptie the windshield down to the hood so it wont fly up and you should be good.doug
