Cost to have 4th Generation Camaro z28/Trans Am Engine Rebuilt?

I'm looking to buy a Camaro z28 or a Trans Am this spring. I've seen several listings for Camaros and Trans Ams that have 120,000+ miles on them, though because of that, prices have been cut.

Is a toyota celica a good car?

I'd like to take advantage of these deals, but I know that the engine will eventually need to be rebuilt or replaced. How much would it cost to have a LT1 of LS1 engine rebuilt?

if you were mechanical you could do it yourself for about three hundred bucks.. but if you are not mechanical.. you run the risks of paying way too much.. here is the scoop.. if you wanted to rebuild your engine.. you would not actually rebuild it.. all you would do is replace certain parts.. those being rings, seals, rod bearings, cam bearings, and mains.. plus all the gaskets. you can call your local parts store and ask them the price of a re-ring kit plus a high performance oil pump.. you will probably want to replace the timing gear and chain.. and do a valve job and the heads vatted and milled.. all this would cost you probably somewhere in the 2 to 500 dollar range.. I'm guessing 300 or so.. when you add the labor for removal and install plus the labor for repairing the engine.. you are probably looking at 1500 to 2000.. beware of cut rate.. if you want it to be first rate.. go check out the shops and pay close attention to the condition of the floor and the work area.. if they are clean, you are looking at a good shop.. if it is cluttered and oily.. go find a clean one.. you will pay more.. but you will also get more.. good luck

I just bought a 2001 z-28 with 88,000 miles and i am just over hauling the motor right now they have rebuilt kits u can buy with everything u need for like 500 bucks but labor in some shops are nuts. I mean if ur going to rebuild a motor your self go with the LS1 they have videos on how to do it. or u can do what my buddy always said "just slam in a 572!" thats next summers goal
