if you completely removed the mufflers it will be very very very loud, too loud to drive comfortably and probably illegal. go buy some flowmasters for it instead.it might also run like crap since its designed to have mufflers and the computer might freak out, you also need the back pressure that mufflers provide for the car to breath properly.

The S197 cars will not increase power from a muffler swap. The stock system is designed to handle in the neighborhood of 400 HP before becoming a restriction. Adding the K&N filter will allow for a little more air under high RPM conditions increasing power slightly. If you get a cold air kit, you WILL need to tune the car with a tuner. The computers in the 05+ Mustangs are VERY sensitive to change but can make good power if you do the right mods.What color shall i choose for my 68 camaro SS?
I recommend you do a search on some of the mustang forums out there. They all have sections for the S197 cars. Do some research and you will save lots of time and money.

The muffler change is a normal change that most do and doesn't really mess with the warranty.. They are actually built now to take a little backpressure in the exhaust to run right. That's why the muffler change sound good, but don't really add anything to performance.

Having no Cats can also set the check engine light on due to the front (fuel control) o2 sensors relying on that same backpressure to make right choices... plus add to that the rear o2 sensors will set a code possibly (I've seen cars with the simulators for removal of the cats set cat o2 codes already...)

The K&N air filter... you are allowed to run it, but you better read and follow the directions to the letter... if not, I've found unoiled K&Ns cause lean codes with the cold air tube causing real headaches with lean running due to too much air and not enough fuel.
