Subaru Outback:How do i disable the seat belt alarm on my 2007 model, please?

Question:
There is an annyoing alarm that goes off on the subaru outback before you put your seatbelt on- or before your passenger puts his/hers on ... this goes off even if you take less than 5 seconds to put it on- and it goes off even if you are driving alone. I always wear my seatbelt and I have no quarrel with someone advising everyone to do so- however this is a ridiculous and annoying thing that does not help anyone and I need to find a way to turn this off ... the Subaru technicians refuse to help- saying they "can do nothing about it"- but this is not true- they are just not allowed to. There is someone who knows how to do this- PLEASE HELP.

Should I buy a yr2000 LEXUS - GS300 with 80k miles (135,000 kms)?

If you always wear your seat belts which is a good thing, get into the habit of putting them on before you start the car. The chime is a safety reminder. I used to move these cars around at the Subaru dealer where I worked an I understand how you feel.

Can I use an automatic transmission fluid for power steering of a honda car.?

check your manual. usually its a series of turning the car on and off while holding in the button for your odometer. if you cant find it in your manual just do a search on a subaru forum.

Just put your seatbelt on before you turn the key, silly.

I am looking for a Honda Accord?

<lol> I've got the same car and I totally agree with you that the seat belt alarm is the most annoying thing I've dealt with. For those of you that haven't experienced the joy of this buzzer, just think of this scenario, pull to the curb, pick up a passenger, listen to that dang alarm go crazy because the car is in drive. The only way to make the thing shut up is put the car in park or tell the passenger to hurry up with the seat belt.

Are Kia Spectras reliable?

I have solved a similar problems by finding the buzzer and wrapping it in tape. The noise is greatly reduced and I didn't have to worry about messing up some other part of the system. I haven't done this to my car yet, . . . . maybe next weekend.

How do you release the parking brake on a newer Pontiac Grand Prix?

1. Turn the ignition to ON. The engine should be off.
2. Within 30 seconds, insert the buckle in and out 20 times. You can hold the release button down if you like. Just make sure to remove the buckle all the way so that it "registers" in and out.
3. The next time you start the engine, you'll get the initial seatbelt chime, but it won't give you the continual warnings afterwards. You should notice right away that after the initial seatbelt chime, the seatbelt light will turn off and no longer flash.
