My 1999 jeep gc is losing oil pressure when i get on the gas and rises when i get off and come to idle?

i changed the oil sending unit and put a mechanical gauge on it and it read at 45

you've most likely got a bad pressure relief valve in the pump. It's opening too soon. When you pu the mechanical gauge on it did you rev it and see if it drops? If so the relief valve is your problem. may as well replace the whole pump since you're doing the work anyway.
