Topping up oil on Peugeot 306 diesel?

Question:
This is a typical woman question I know but I want to know how to top up my oil on my 306. It's relatively new to me and with my previous cars I've had no problem, however with this one, when I lift the bonnet, I can find the dipstick but no where to actually top the oil up. Please can someone help! Thank you

I need to change the right wheel bearing hub?

Usually right on top of the engine there's a plastic cap about 3" wide. Just twist this off and add any oil needed a little at a time - maybe a cupful or so. If you're not certain, I'm sure most drivers at a petrol station will be happy to show you; just lift the bonnet, buttonhole a likely-looking person and ask.

What kind of car shoukd I get. A chevy or a ford?

PS Ah, having seen your picture, the cap with the two people sitting around a book is the coolant cap, the blue one is the screenwash. Do you see the yellow dipstick handle? Go towards the rear of the car about 4" and there's a silvery-looking strip across the engine. Immediately behind that is the black rocker box, on its left is a cap with a picture of an old-fashioned oilcan on it (just behind the big black cable). That's the one you want.

Springs or coilovers?

I used to have one of these and they are great cars which do about 65 miles to the gallon. There should be a black cap on top of an oblong rocker box lid/or box type object. It is directly over the cylinder head on the engine block. Just take this black plastic cap off which is about 3 inches in diameter and top up with oil.The dipstick will be near this but lower down and maybe further round the side.. It can be difficult to get off so just waggle it from side to side with also some pulling pressure.Good luck

Can u tell me whether honda city is good or civic is good to drive in India?I do love both the cars.?

Ok, somewhere on the top of the engine, should be a cap to unscrew, it should have a little picture of an oil can on it, it won't necessarily be near the dipstick. When the engine is cold, remove your diptstick, wipe it with tisuue, stick it back in, take it out. This will give you a reading to show how much oil there is in it - there will probably be two marks - maximum and minimum. Then put your oil in and recheck your dipstick again, ensuring you wipe it every time you make a reading. Take care not to put too much oil in. If you do, it will burn it off and smoke when you drive, though this shouldn't damage the car, but it might make you worry! Happy motoring!

Pontiac Anti-Theft System?

depending on what year your pug is it`s normally built into the oil cap itself which is located at the front of the cylinder head and the dip sticks are quite hard to get a reading from.

Which Mustang would you rather have...Roush, or Shelby's Model??

Hi, your two previous answers are exactly right, exact location of the filler cap varies on the year the car was made, i have had 3 of these cars previously, all i can add is to only put 2.5 litres of new oil in and re-check the dipstick level in a couple of days.
