Question:
I have a volvo 960 estate 1992 that i got off of a friend, i only have the key to the kay and not the remote keyfob, i went to the dealer and purchased the correct 1 and was told how to program this i went home and no joy thing didnt work, i then noticed that under the bonnect the alarm had been diabled with a small d lock type key i turned this and the red led inside the car came on. I am assuming that i need this to be activated to get the remote to program. the problem is with the alarm on under the bonnet every time you open a door or put the key in the ignition the alarm goes off, how am i supposed to program a remote with the alarm activated? help...

Baja Ranger??
the problem is that a second alarm system has been piggybacked into the original volvo alarm. with the aftermarket alarm installed the remote system may have been bypassed. the 2nd system should be properly and thoroughly removed by a experienced shop. then you should be able to program your remote.
