Most new brake pads are made of a metal mix whereas pads in the olden days used asbestos. The asbestos was softer and didn't squeak, but is very bad for you. If you really wanto to you can get ceramic pads that wont squeak. The more metal they have teh mroe they will squeak. It also has to do with how your brake system was designed. At the shop I used to work at we used to use BG stop squeak. It maybe worked sometimes, but we still got cars back with squeaks and even got back cars with their brakes on fire if somebody put too much of the stuff on. Ususally the squeaking will stop after the brakes are broken in.

if u have new pads and they work fine, then its all good. sometimes when you replace ur brake pads and you dont exacttly use the best kind, they squeak cuz der cheap but they still work, try sprayin some brake cleaner on the pads it might stop the squeaking, or bleed ur brakes ?

I'll assume that you used your old rotors and used new pads. Now, to get maximum efficiency of your new pads, you're supposed to have had your old brake rotors turned. If they're both new pads and rotors, see below.

Here comes the good part, you're also required to "Bed" in your new pads. This means four to five 60-10mph stops with no stopping. Eight to ten 40-10mph stops without stopping and then drive for 15 minutes to cool both the pad and the rotor. Make sure to do this that's not a heavily traveled road/back roads. Brake bedding is REQUIRED to get your pads to function properly and doing this should have prevented any squeaking.
