Question:
1997 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 2 WD. Do I need to raise the motor to pull pan? I almost have it. Does not clear the front axle by 1/2". Need to release what else?
Answers:
You might not want to mess with motor mounts unless you have a hoist. Letting the differential drop, you can easily dictate where you want it with a floor jack or jack stands.

i own a shop ,and yes it does need to come up a little i always loosen a mount and use a good strong piece of wood between the mount and the engine, this give enough clearance to get it off without fighting with it,and it also makes it a lot easier to put back on also, any more room you can get in it helps you a lot on this one, good luck,i hope this helps.Does anyone know where to purchase a new (2004 or newer) Alfa Romeo in the USA?
unbolt the shocks and the front axle beam will drop far enough to get it out and back in easily. In fact this is one of the steps in the Chilton manual.More Questions & Answers ...
