Cooling fans pull colder air from the outside of the engine compartment. So the fan should be blowing toward the motor.it should blow towards the motor. It is designed to suck cool air from the front of the radiator

normally the fan sucks cooler air from your outside grille area and runs it past your radiator (blowing towards engine) thereby helping cool the antifreeze and water mixture. If it worked the opposite way by blowing towards the radiator it would be sucking warmer air from around the engine and trying to use the warmer air to cool the antifreeze mixture which doesn't make sense to me. hope this helps.toward the motor so it doesn't cause drag when car is moving
