i had a 2001 dodge diesel..i got around 18 - 20 mpg just around town....look for any visible leaks or symptoms of leaks . check all your hoses and belts fliuids etc.. service them every 7500 miles thats considered good upkeep on a dodge dieselWHere can I find 14" rims to fit my 1985 Chevy Camaro . its a 6 cylinder . just the coupe .?
Dodges are nice but the dodge extended warranty SUCKSI wouldn't buy it. I'm having nothing but trouble with my truck and the problems just started with about 78,000 miles on it.
They say the diesel should last atleast 250,000 miles . I'm selling my truck now and looking at the new chevy
Where can I get a ford bronco 4dr 4x4?
Check the transmission out closely, I assume its an automatic. Until recently the transmissions were not really up to the torque of a diesel, and I have talked to a lot of owners (RV applications) who are putting or have put several gearboxes in the early ones. More recently the pickup builders have switched to allison transmissions, better able to handle the torque loads. FYI...Where do you find the VIN number on a 30 Ford Model A?
Don W sounds bitter because he is having problems... too bad. that Chevy will also. The 2001 Ram is a decent truck with a decent engine. They will ALL have there problems. Things to pay attention to are the injection pump. make sure there are no seepages or leaks. Check the front end suspenion components out well. Track bar, ball joints, etc... these Diesels are heavy for the fron ends and sometimes cause undue wear. Over all the Cummins has proven itself quite well in the Dodge trucks. With 100k on the odometer you can probably look for around 18 mpg.More Questions & Answers ...
