Question:
We have a 2005 automatic 4.0l Wrangler with a diff ratio of 3.73 (with the final drive ratio still being the same as a manual gearbox ie 2.57). I have just installed an ARB Old Man Emu 2" lift kit, and want to run 31" Goodyear MTR tyres. We use the Jeep as our main vehicle, and go off-road once or twice a month, but no rock-climbing. Is it necessary to change the diff ratio to eg 4.11 to keep the torque near the bottom of the rev range? I don't want to be revving the engine hard off-road to get into the power band when a steep hill needs to be climbed, which will just increase the off-road speed and make things a bit dangerous.

Diesel automobiles in mainstream America?
If you are only going to ever run 31" tires, you will be fine. The I-6 engine is peppy enough to deal with the minimal tire size change. If you ever wanted to go with 33" tires you may want to consider a gear change to perhaps 4.11 gears in the diffs. Here you go Ford fans. Check this link and tell me what you think.?
31" tires are not a big deal for your application and your 4.0L powerplant. :)

That is the same thing I said a long time ago!!
Now I'm running 2 detroit lockers and 35" tires with 6" lift.
Do any one knows where to get Nissan Latio Fog lamp, other than Tan Chong.?
You already have the 2" lift kit, go for the 33" tires and get the 4.88 gears.
