Question:
I did a quarter mile drag in my 2004 ford Lightning in 6.4 sec. Is this good? I'm really not sure.
Answers:
A stock, 2004 base-model Ford Lightning weighs approximately 4670 pounds. To push that amount of weight through the quarter mile in 6.4 seconds would require approximately 3,500 horsepower, which is a ridiculously high amount. The only cars out there with that much horsepower are jet cars and Top Fuel cars. I doubt you have either. Just to be clear, a Top Fuel car is not just some mildly souped up car. Top Fuel cars don't even burn gasoline, they burn nitromethane, and you can hear them from well over a mile away.
Van coolant/overheating mystery?
I'm thinking maybe you ran 6.4 seconds in the *eighth* mile, not the quarter mile. That would be a damn good 1/8 mile ET, and would equate to approximately a 10.11 second 1/4 mile ET. [Note: Converting 1/8 mile times to 1/4 mile times is difficult, because it would require all sorts of extra data, such as vehicle weight, gear ratios, horsepower, etc. Several websites have 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile conversion tables, but they've derived those by guessing at all the other parameters. Therefore, the value of 10.11 seconds is just a ballpark figure.] For a Ford Lightning, that's still a bit hard to believe, unless you've done some SERIOUS work to it, as that would still require approximately 905 horsepower (assuming the same weight of 4670 lbs).
Do all Dodge Vipers have a manual trans?
Even if you put your Lightning on a diet and got it down to 3500 lbs, it would still require about 678 horsepower to do a 10.11 ET in the 1/4 mile.
Where is the "heater blower" located on a 2000 chevy impala?
Something tells me your numbers are way off. In fact, the only place a value of 6.4 seconds makes sense with respect to a Ford Lightning would be if that was your 0-60 time.
When did dodge start making the 5.7 hemi?
somehow i doubt that your did 6.4. But that again is just me...Does anyone know how many o2 sensors are on a 96 Ranger?
you mighta done that in the 1/8 mile. The FORD 500. What do you think? Owners only!?
that's impossible.Who besides yenko had cars built to their specs at the factory?
Blessings to U,
How do you turn off the rev limiter on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
Daniel
I think you need to recheck your numbers
The lighting's did i very high 13 in the quarter. Now i have seen some dip into the 11's but they heavily modified their supercharger with pulleys or a whole new supercharger. But that is a lot of money tuning and setting up the suspension so I doubt that is you in this case. I say its you 0-60 time that you are talking about.
