sounds like your drive line angle is off, had trucks with similar problem and driveshaft inclinatin was off.

did you rotate the axles up so that the ujoints are still relatively straight. is there enough length where the splines connect, that they are still fully inserted in the female connection. 4" on a short wheelbase will create a lot of problems

Yes,it sounds like your pinion angles are off.Drive shafts can be very tricky.I install PTO driven generators on big rigs all the time and without an angle gauge you are just guessing.When it comes to two or more shafts things have to be correct.I've installed them with three shafts before.
