Right now i have the Y pipe duals on my 05 chevy my truck has 2 cats on it if i run the duals from the cats?

Yes it will sound alot better to get rid of the Y pipe and run real duals.... get 2 high flow cats, and 2 good mufflers, like Flowmaster 40's.....ect....

So you will still make the states emissions just be shute what ever changes you make do it after the cats.

you can run duals from the cats...that is not a problem...however to equalize the exhaust...you may want to run a cross over somewhere along the line...if it can be done depending on your suspension etc....equalization is important on some vehicles...check with your local muffler shop for more information on that.
