I need info on buying a Suzuki Grand vitara are they a good car this one has 96k for 4600.00 2001 looks good.

Always use overdrive unless you are going downhill and want to use the engine to help you slow down. That's also the reason why you would want to use 1st or 2nd.

Anyone has a BMW 328i Reviews?

i own a repair shop, and the best time to use first or second would be either going up a real steep hill or down a long incline,,also on the over drive part of it,,this shouldn't be use in town, for stop and go driving,,its really hard on a transmission,,it makes it shift back and forth a lot,,best time for over drive is on an open road where speeds are going to be more than 50 miles per hour or more,,this will make the transmission last a lot longer ,good luck with it,hope this help,s.happy new years also.

Would a Corvette Engine fit on a 1996 Chevy Tahoe and how much would it cost to get this done?

Okay, 2nd gear is useful when driving in ice and snow. When starting from a stop on ice, manually engage second gear. This prohibits the engagement of first gear and results in less torque multiplication, and therefore better traction in slippery conditions. Once rolling, manually shift to overdrive. Overdrive is fine in your modern truck, either in town or on the road. Older fords had horrible overdrives, and hunted notoriously. Your 06 will be fine. Low is used primarliy to limit your vehicles speed. If you haul a heavy load, or are towing, engage the towing mode. That will protect your overdrive in those conditions. hope this helped.

audi a4 gear box problem. gear box oil runout and car stopped. what caused the shortage? puwurayire clement.?

If you are towing and if you want to avoid costly transmission repairs start out in 1st gear and manually shift and do not use overdrive while towing nor use cruise control either while towing. Also if you are in snow or on ice a manual shift to 2nd gear when starting off will keep you from spinning tires. If your truck is 4WD and you take it offroad and use low range 4WD for climbing if you want to keep your truck looking nice use 1st gear and crawl slowly. I'm an offroad enthusiast and have had both standard and automatic transmissions and I find that if you manually shift the automatics offroad you have more control and also do not use overdrive when offroad in 4WD. If you are offroad and in 4WD why would be go fast enough for the overdrive to engage in the first place. If you are climbing hills on the highway or freeway you should manually disengage the overdrive if it shifts down automatically, this prevents the transmission from "searching" shifting from drive to overdrive all the way up the hill. This also prevents the transmission from overheating as it will especially if towing and using overdrive. It will destroy the transmission if you do.
