I want a bike rack for my Honda Element, and I already have a luggage rack...?

Do I have to pay for a brand new bike rack, or can my luggage rack be modified to accomodate bikes? I can't really tell from the pictures...

Instead of throwing a bike and tying it down on your roof rack, see if you can maybe part with the stock luggage rack and get a Thule combination system. It has one setup for all of the accessories they offer, and there are a wide variety of accessories to fit whatever your need. The trailer hitch style racks are good, trouble is, you have to have a trailer hitch to attach it to, if you have one on the car. I would highly suggest the Thule roof rail and accessory system. It is the most diverse and easy system out there that I know of. Hope this helps!

Is the luggage rack on top? If so, I would say get one of those bike racks that carry your bike behind the vehicle. They mount to the trailer hitch under the bumper.
