I already get around 34 to 40 mpg on my civic. But since it is a 1.5L I really do not have too much power. Also i would like to increase my fuel efficiency better than 34/40 mpg. I know i am asking the best of both worlds, but I am looking for something that would make any difference. Thank you for your inputs and time.

The sad truth is that the best gas mileage producing gadget is your right foot. Your driving habits have more effect on fuel consumption than anything. Since you are pushing 40 mpg already, I assume that you are already pretty good with driving habits.Here are a few mileage tips that work:
1. Inflate your tires 2 lbs over the recommended pressure on the door sticker. This pressure is determined for best ride, not mileage.
2. Drive the speed limit and never over. Speed consumes more fuel. Accelerate smoothly and get into top gear as soon as you can. Most cars top gear is overdrive, and that is where you get the best mileage.
3. Keep your air and fuel filters clean and keep your car tuned up. Efficient cars burn less fuel.
4. And if you desire, change that air filter for a K and N low restriction filter, and get a free flow exhaust. These are good for a 5-10% increase in fuel mileage if you don't drive more aggressively.
