I queried about this as well. I own a 1994 Toy 4 runner,had its days,strong 4 banger,247,000 miles and still running strong. I was wanting to place a souped up 283 to run the Ba ha. first off the engine mounts need to almost or exactly match other wise some welding will take place. Placing the 350 in your vehicle makes me think a 6 banger is their and could be same procedure. Once engine is in you need to change out transmissions just these two changes will run into a ballpark figure of 3-4 k, the more work you do of course will change that amount. other work needed of course. total amount in the hood of 6-8ka load of trouble, forget it unless you like to tinker on your car all the time

After that, it sounds like a load of work. Getting engine mounts to suit and drivetrain alignment would be major issues for you as they would not likely be available in the aftermarket. I would say this sort of conversion would involve a whole lot of one-off fabricating. Measuring things out and making your own mounts and cutting and welding lord knows what to make it all fit together. Having said that, if you have the time, patience, skill and ambition, it would be a cool thing to do.
