Question:
i have a virtually brand new 05 mazda 3 2.3s it has 1300 miles on it. it has a sulfur smell to the exhaust in which i can smell in normal driving without straining the engine or shifting at high rpm's. at first i thought it was a bad caddalittic converter but i took it to get a emission test and it showed that it was perfect. and i am using 91 octane gas from chevron (supposably the best gas you can get without the sulfur) and it is still smelling like this. the dealer says it is normal but i think that is bull ****. also i was thinking about changing the spark plugs (even though it only has 13,000 miles) i heard that it might change it...
what size rim and tire combo. can I PUT ON A 1986 CHEVY CAPRICE?
does anyone know what could be the problem?
Answers:
You know, I have a mazda 3 and I've noticed that smell too. It hasn't happened lately but that has happened on two seperate occasions. It's really strange. I haven't had any other problems with my car besides that. (It's a Mazda 3s 2.3 2005). Oh by the way, you don't need to use anything higher than 87 (although some people would like to think so). Refer to your handbook.
return policy of ford: I s there anyone know about the return policy of ford?
Here is Mazda's official advice on excessive sulfur odor (TSB 01043/06):i was wondering if its posible to swap a twin turbo toyota supra engine into a 1990 300zx,,?
1) Switch to a different brand of fuel and drive for at least 100 miles. Monitor the decrease or increase in sulfur smell.
2) Do not add any type of "fuel additive" as this could add sulfur to the fuel and cause/increase the odor.
3) Try to avoid extended periods of short driving or aggressive acceleration.
4) Request information from your local fuel dealers on the amounts of sulfur in their gasolines. Try to use fuel containing the lowest amounts of sulfur.
5) Visit the EPA and gasoline company websites to stay informed on any changes in fuel or environmental regulations: www.epa.gov
Suggestion 3 is amusing considering "zoom-zoom" :-)
If you decide to experiment with different gasoline brands as suggested above, choose brands that comply with the Top Tier standard if possible: http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html...
