Is the 2007 VW Rabbit a fast car?
thank you for wanting to help produce more greenhouse gases and keep this global warming going. RIGHT ON THANK YOU!What kind of car do you drive?
It will sound slightly raspier as the gases are freed quicker and less restricted. The car will accelerate slightly more freely. Having a quicker throttle response and sharper 'go'.It won't run any different.
How do you replace the side mirror on a 2001 malibu ?
MPG will not be affected.
My 1996 dodge ram runns poorly untill warmed up what is this?
You will probably need to put the CAT back on for MOT which can be a pain as your emissions won't pass without it.
What is the firing order on a distributor cap for a 1987 mazda 626 2.0 engine?
It won't do it any harm - maybe a few more miles to the gallon BUT be warned - if you get stopped by VOSA - they have the power to stop you at the roadside - you will get done on your emissions. They will also pull the rest of your car to bits to find other faults if they find you have de-catted the car. They are ruthless in their search and tests.
Why do people hate fords sooooo much?
I own a shop, and can tell you this; If there is an O-2 sensor beyond (down stream) from the cat converter, your computer will see the cat as not being hot enough, and cause a check engine light to come on. 95 is around the year they started putting the extra O-2 sensor down stream from the cat converter, so you might want to check this before you de cat it. It will allow the engine to run better because it don't have as much back pressure, and you will see an improvement in power as well as gas mileage.Glad to help out, Good Luck!
Where can i purchase the 335i M Sport Coupe side skirts, front & rear bumpers? thanks~!?
won't definately run better, engines require backpressure from the exhaust system to run - I did the same to a AX GT - Sounded better, seemed to pull harder (though that was probably the "noise effect") but I lost 5 mph from my top end.Mind you I just used a section of stainless tube, not a proper cat replacement system.
My Xantia's fan motor last only for a year and always on the driver's side.?
You may encounter problems with the O2 Sensors, if fitted, which monitor the performance of the cat - will come up as an engine management fault, buy you can ignore it.
MPG this WILL DECREASE! REASON - You will rev it harder to listen to the improved sound, blipping at traffic lights etc - You will use more fuel, not the car LOL.
What is the size of the lug nut pattern on 2001- 2006 ranger 4x4s?
Give it a go - Good luck
How do you change spark plugs for a lexus GS300?
This will not make much, If any difference to your acceleration. There are only three things a "De-cat" does to a car1. Increase emmissions therefore failing emissions testing and FAILING MOT!!
2. Makes the engine note much louder.
3. Increases fuel consumption because without the Cat on the back the engine has to work harder to push the exhaust fumes out.
My advice? Replace it with a performance cat or better still an entire performance system.
What is a slip yoke eliminator and what is it's purpose?
You will get the following:How can the Ford Escape be advertised as 100% Hybrid?
1. Louder sound from the exhaust
2. Will loose the low end torque (due lost of the back pressure)
3. power gain is so little that you probably would feel it
4. will get a funny burning smell from the exhaust
5. better MPG? . don't think so ..
6. waste your money to de-cat and gain nothing
Bottomline, not worth it!
Are the transmitions on a 95 eclipse gst and a rs modle interchangable??
your car will run hottter than it did power gain you wont notice and its illegal aon cars after 1992 but its personall prefrenceWhat does a "EML" sensor sign on the gauge board on a bmw 528i mean?
DON'T!!!!!How do I install a new head unit (cd reciever) in my 1999 chevy tracker?
Ileagal, kills the power band by screwing you fuel mixture up because your O2 sensors are reading wrong. Hurts torque due to loss of back pressure.
Go to techtonics on the internet and shop for a replacement.
Freezing gears 5speed 1994 suzuki sidekick?
What I did was get a generic replacement cat for very little money that had better flow than stock and it fit right in. A good exhaust shop could save you big bucks on this, check with them.

ASE Cert tech 30 years, 92 GTI16V 2.0L
Exhaust flow will improve slightly but as the inlet system was designed for the cat being there you probably won't notice much difference. As for MPG the engine management will still be controlled be the oxygen sensor which is before the cat so there will be very little difference.
Is there a rwd manual transmission that fits a 94 buick park avenue supercharged?
in your case you need the back pressure provided by the cat.it will actually run worse without it.conversely you can shop around for a high performance version which will allow the the engine to run as intended ( i.e it actually moves when ya step on the gas ) because it will deliver both improved fuel economy, mpg, and still keep the needed back pressure inside the engine which is used by its computer for adjustments. it has to do with timing advance etc. too lil bacp pressure, and it can skip too high or low, leading to detonation inside your engine, bad mojo.also if this is a shop doing the work for you, its illegal for them to do it in the first place, and will entail a hefty fine if caught for you,and the shop. no reputable shop will decat your car. they will however swap the stock cat for a performance version, and be able to reset any sensors that may be affectedMore Questions & Answers ...
