It needs to be taken to a mechanic and plugged in to their computer to have the code reset.Its best to do maintenance prior to the manufactures set scheduled maintenance for that vehicle to avoid the light coming on and having to take it to be cleared.Its just another "job security" feature implanted by the manufacturer to have you need to bring it to them.Keep your oil and filters clean with a good regimen to avoid the vehicles sensors from setting off this light and the cost of them having to clear the code to shut it off.
