In my younger days I had a Rabbit GTi and got involved in changing the engine and stuff like that. Never worth it.

Is Oldsmobile not manufacturing any new cars?

See the car you have is designed to have that engine in it. Once you upgrade the engine and the transmission, you have to consider that the suspension is not good enough and neither are the brakes. So really you need to upgrade these things too, and maybe the tires. By the time you are done, you have wasted a bunch of time and money.

Next there is the issue of insurance. You now no longer have a stock car, you have a modified car. For the most part this will invalidate your insurance, so if you get into an accident there is a good chance they will refuse to pay out if they find out what you have done to the car. If you tell them what you did to the car, they will likely increase your premiums because generally the only people who upgrade the engine in their cars are people who want to drive fast.

Finally, you have to consider the car's value. Once you come to sell the car, anyone who looks at it will find out what you have done. They will then assume that you are a boy racer who thrashed the car all the time. Unless you had the upgrades professionally done by a respected auto shop and can prove it, they are going to worry that the work was not done properly and that the vehicle will therefore be unreliable. They will also be concerned that a dealership may refuse to service this modified vehicle.

So the bottom line is you will most likely never get back your investment, you will probably lose money in depreciation, you could get into insurance hassles and extra expense, and you could have trouble selling your car. Save up, trade it in for a faster car.

1990 Chevy Cavalier runs on 2 or 3 cylinders and the catalytic converter glows orange?

I don't think so. Without a turbo you won't gain enough. You'll probably spend $3k on the motor/trans swap. You won't get it back on resale and it could even reduce the value. I'd change to a car that's a good starting point and easy to mod. I don't know if a type-s. The turbo installs seem a complicated and expensive for the RSX-s.

Why american we rip off they own people.when it comes to cars?

trade ur car in and get the type-s and then mod the type -s, all u have to do is change the cams, headers, exhaust and intake and you can shave off at least 1 second in the quartermile, if you start doing engine swaps, your car will never be as perfect again as it was when it from the factory. Factory is Perfect, trust me, even the best mechanic in the world cannot do an engine swap without no defects. This is from experience.
