I have a 1999 Volkswagon jetta and sometimes when it's cold it delays in switching gears on the 1st gear??!!

My 2003 Eurovan does this, also. Even if it's not terribly cold outside, and I've just started the car in the morning. First gear will take an extra second or two before shifting. Not a problem, just the oil loosening up I suppose. After a couple of minutes, 1st gear stops doing this.

Which Vehicle should I choose?
